If it's a laptop you can't really replace a graphics card so easily, but towers are generally designed to allow that kind of thing. It is only slightly better than the CPU the OP has, but not by much. Many thanks to BicyclerBoy for pointing me in the right direction. Last edited by BicyclerBoy; August 27th, 2011 at 09:22 PM.

Always think about what will be true in 1-2 yrs from now when spending money. You are wrong. I've tried the nVidia audio drivers also and nothing.ps:is it weird that the nvidia drivers and the realtek drivers work for my pc?
It doesn't support firewire drives? What *did* fix things though was going back through the optimization section in the Pro Tools installation document. (Since when I first installed I was going by the install guide written I should notice improvement for sure with that huh?
multiple cards. So something is wrong with the 9800GT, could be a capacitor... I then went back to plugging in a 57 and tapping on it, all is normal. solved I have recorded a few minutes over a long audio file.

During Cata, I replaced my 8600 GTS with the HD 6670. I like the idea of being able to get DirectX 11 and the fact that it blows out it's hot air.
Can you list your audio codec? Thanks so much for your help!Colin Willyoupleasehelpmefixmykeyboard?Thespacebarisbroken! But here's where things get weird...and awesome? If you already solved your problem, please post here what you came up with.
I see your right, the 5850 is a slightly better card.. Maybe some people only want to attach their PC to their HDTV to watch an inserted movie. Just wondering if any of that stuff is running to hot by any chance. This is a textbook example of you getting a large return on upgrading one component - you really should see a massive jump in framerates from a 6850 i7 860 @
